Whitepaper · Draft v0.1
The Bloom Protocol
01The game today
AFTERFALL is a single-player, third-person survival game set in Quarantine Zone 4, a city sealed off after a biological outbreak known as the Bloom. It runs in a desktop browser on WebGL, with a fixed-timestep simulation, real physics and local save files.
- Combat: melee and firearms against three infected types (Walker, Runner, Brute) driven by perception, noise and state-machine AI.
- Squad: three recruitable survivors (Medic, Scavenger, Guard) with roles, needs, morale and loyalty, commanded in real time or from a tactical overhead view.
- Settlement: seven buildable structures, a three-tier shelter upgrade path, crafting and a daily food, water and production economy.
- World: three maps (Ashgrove Crossing, Pinewood Outskirts, Route 9 Wasteland), a 24-minute day and night cycle and weather.
The current build passes 115 automated tests and averages 138 FPS at 1080p on a mid-range gaming laptop (RTX 4050, High preset).
02Why the browser
A link is the shortest path from interest to play. There is no store approval, no installer and no platform fee between the player and the game. The whole client loads at roughly 2 MB compressed, and a Low graphics preset targets entry-level laptops.
03Player-owned progress
Survival games are about what you build and keep. The planned on-chain layer makes the most meaningful progress, the settlement, something the player holds rather than a row in a company database. Wallets will be optional: the core game must stay complete and fun without one.
04Token utility and design principles
The planned community token is intended for in-game utility and governance. Its final design must meet these principles:
- Fun first. No mechanic may require buying the token to progress in the core game.
- Sinks before faucets. Every reward source must be balanced by real in-game uses (cosmetics, settlement upgrades, event entry).
- Published rules. Supply, allocation, vesting and season reward rules are published before they take effect.
- Long vesting for insiders. Team and early-backer tokens vest over a multi-year schedule (exact terms TBD).
- Audited contracts. No contract goes live without an independent security audit.

07Risks and disclosures
- No token has been issued. The token, its design and its timeline may change materially or may not launch at all.
- Digital assets are volatile and may lose all value. Smart contracts can contain vulnerabilities even after an audit.
- Regulation of digital assets varies by jurisdiction and is changing. Participation may be restricted or prohibited where you live.
- Game development carries schedule and execution risk. Roadmap dates are estimates.
- This document is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and it is not an offer or solicitation to buy any security or token.
